A high-speed crash on Sunday claimed the life of a 26-year-old motorcyclist in Palm Beach Gardens.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office crash report states that the crash occurred on Donald Ross Road at 9:36 a.m. when a Toyota Tacoma, headed west in the left turn lane for a plaza at 4600 Donald Ross Road, attempted to make a left turn.
According to officials, as the Toyota began crossing the eastbound lanes, a Yamaha motorcycle, allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed in the inside lane, approached, and the front of the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Toyota’s bed.
The report states that the impact caused the Toyota to spin 180 degrees, ejecting the motorcyclist from his bike. He was found a distance away from the collision site, while the motorcycle broke into several pieces and landed nearby.
Authorities have reported that the motorcyclist, identified as Spencer Holden, did not survive the crash.
