Woman bitten in the face at Oxford Downs on New Year’s Day

Woman bitten in the face at Oxford Downs on New Year’s Day

A Summerfield woman was arrested for battery after allegedly biting a woman in the face in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

A deputy responded to Oxford Downs, located at 17996 S U.S. Hwy. 301, Summerfield, for an alleged battery involving 50-year-old NJB at 3:10 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, he found B standing in the middle of the parking lot. Security advised that she had gotten upset with another woman in the casino after a short altercation and bit her in the face. She then walked out of the building and got into two witnesses’ vehicle without permission. She also got out of the vehicle in an attempt to walk away before law enforcement showed up, the report said.

When asked her side of the story, B stated she was punched in the vaginal area of her body, which caused her to bite the victim. The deputy tried to investigate this more, but she admitted this did not actually happen. She instead advised that she was “Facebook friends” with the victim and would not hurt her, instead giving her a kiss on the cheek, the report said.

The deputy next asked how much she had to drink, and she responded with, “I’m walking home.” She became upset with him and proceeded to walk away as if she was leaving. She was immediately handcuffed and put in the back of a patrol vehicle for safety, the report said.

The deputy moved on to the witnesses who stated they were in their vehicle talking when B opened one of the back doors and got in uninvited. She yelled at them to “drive,” and the cops were looking for them. She then started asking about cocaine, which made both of them get out of the vehicle to avoid being associated with illegal drugs, the report said.

The witnesses told law enforcement they did not invite B into the vehicle and even asked her to leave. Neither of them knew who she was, either, the report said.

The victim later advised that she was bitten in the face by a “crazy” woman. She was asked to explain the situation but was so extremely hysterical that she could not express what happened other than she was bitten. She sustained a large red mark on her face with indents from B’s teeth, which were bleeding. She was taken to HCA Florida Summerfield Emergency, located at 14193 U.S. Hwy. 441, Summerfield, for further medical attention, the report said.

Two good friends of the victim explained they were spending time together when B approached the group. She was very hostile toward them from the start, and the victim overheard a comment made by B which upset her. She asked B to repeat herself, to which B told her to watch herself, leaned in and hit her with a large amount of force. She then left the casino and tried getting into multiple locked vehicles before getting into the witnesses’ car, the report said.

Security ultimately requested B be trespassed from the property, as she had caused multiple incidents in the past, the report said.

B was arrested on charges of simple battery and trespassing. She was transported to Marion County Jail and released that same night.
