A semi-truck crashed into a vacant home, leading to a complex vehicle recovery operation, Walton County Fire Rescue says.

Officials say the logging truck lost control after a car pulled out in front of it at the intersection of County Road 179 and State Road 2, hitting a vacant home.

The structure sustained significant damage; no one was inside at the time, WCFR says.

The Walton County Fire Rescue Technical Rescue Team was activated, preventing a partial collapse in just under two hours by using vertical shores to reinforce weak areas, officials say. The rescue team then removed building materials, freeing the trapped truck.

The driver had minor injuries and exited the truck before the team arrived.
