Father and 11-year-old survive small plane crash in Okeechobee

 A small plane carrying a father and an 11-year-old crashed Saturday night near Berman Road in Okeechobee; both are in stable condition.

Deputies with the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office say they responded to a small plane crash near the northeast portion of Berman Road.

The plane was reportedly flown by a father and his 11-year-old child.

Both occupants survived the crash and were taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, per deputies. Both were awake and alert.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating what caused the crash, per OCSO.
