The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a car versus pedestrian crash in Martin County Tuesday morning.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported the crash around 7:26 a.m.
A pedestrian was flown to a hospital after being hit by a car near the intersection of Martin Downs Boulevard and Mapp Road in Palm City.
Officials advise drivers to expect delays in the area.
This incident comes as the sheriff’s office is increasing traffic enforcement in the western part of the county. There have been five traffic-related deaths in the past two weeks.
The say the increased enforcement is on Warfield Boulevard to slow drivers and reduce unsafe driving.
