20 Manatee County residents are displaced following a duplex structure fire that resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue responded around 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the area of 60th Avenue Drive West where crews found a duplex with heavy black smoke and flames coming from it.
Officials with CHFR, Southern Manatee Fire Rescue, the City of Bradenton Fire Department and Manatee County Emergency Medical Services worked together to take out the fire, which was under control within 25 minutes.
While no injuries were reported, 20 people living in the duplex were displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting those affected with immediate needs.
Officials said the cause of fire is “undetermined” and caused around $250,000 in property damage.
