An intersection in Orange County was shut down Wednesday morning after a car struck the side of a tractor-trailer in a fiery crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at Orange Blossom Trail’s intersection with Consulate Drive, not far from the tourist-district attractions and lodging around the county line with Osceola, troopers said.
According to a preliminary FHP crash report, a 2003 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Orange Blossom Trail as a 2025 semi tractor-double trailer traveling eastbound on Consulate Drive turned left to travel north on Orange Blossom Trail.
The front of the Honda struck the left side of the semi-trailer, causing both vehicles to catch fire, the report states.
At the time of this report, the southbound left-turn lane and northbound outside lane were still blocked.
Three people were hospitalized, at least one of whom underwent treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to FHP.
