One person is dead after a van crashed into a traffic sign and a tree in Glades County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the van was driving east on County Road 74, approaching State Road 29 at around 8:33 p.m. on Thursday night.
The van then ran through the stop sign on SR-29 and entered the northbound grassy shoulder. It then crashed into a traffic sign and tree, overturned and caught fire, FHP said.
The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene, and troopers are working to verify the identity of the driver, FHP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
