An Ocala man has filed a lawsuit against a local manufacturing company, alleging that he lost the tip of his finger while assisting an employee with a vehicle lift at their facility last fall.
Joshia Dixon filed the complaint on Jan. 22 in the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County against Concept One Manufacturing, LLC.
According to the lawsuit, the incident took place on Oct. 3, 2025, at the company’s premises located at 3650 NE 43rd Place in Ocala. Dixon claims he was visiting the facility as a business invitee when a mechanic employed by the company asked for his assistance in operating a vehicle lift.
The complaint states that as Dixon was operating the lift, his right pointer finger was crushed, resulting in the severance of the fingertip.
Dixon alleges that Concept One Manufacturing breached its duty of care by failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition and failing to warn him of the dangers associated with the machinery.
The lawsuit further claims the company was negligent in training its employees to properly handle the lift and failed to follow its own corporate policies regarding the safe use of such equipment.
As a result of the injury, Dixon claims he has suffered permanent bodily injury, pain and suffering, physical impairment, and disfigurement. Dixon is seeking a trial by jury and damages in excess of $50,000 as compensation for medical expenses and lost wages.
Concept One Manufacturing is a Florida-based company that specializes in creating custom parts using self-skinning and integral foam, as well as polyurethane molding and composites. The business serves a wide range of industries across North America, including automotive restoration, amusement parks, medical equipment, and specialty vehicles.
As of this week, Concept One Manufacturing, LLC has not yet filed a response to the allegations.
