A large plume of smoke could be seen billowing into the air in Hyde Park Village Thursday after a fire started up at a local restaurant.
Tampa Fire Rescue said crews were dispatched to Meat Market, located off West Snow Avenue, around 4:30 p.m. after a fire alarm went off.
Calls also started pouring in as people in the area noticed smoke coming from the top of the building.
Firefighters made their way to the roof using a ladder truck and also fought the blaze from inside. According to Tampa Fire Rescue, the fire was under control within 30 minutes.
Authorities said the fire originated in the kitchen, though the official cause was still under investigation.
There were no injuries reported.
In a social media post, Meat Market said it would be closed for the rest of Thursday but plans to reopen Friday for lunch, happy hour, and dinner.
