Two women airlifted after I-10 rollover crash in Jackson County

Two women are in critical and serious conditions following a traffic crash on Tuesday afternoon in Jackson County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, shortly before 3 p.m., an 81-year-old woman from Alford and a 75-year-old woman from Grand Ridge were traveling east in a pickup truck on I-10 near mile marker 150.

Troopers said the pickup truck left the road and struck a sign, causing it to overturn and roll. While the vehicle was rolling over, the side of the truck collided with a fence.

Troopers reported that the pickup truck stopped moving just west of I-10 mile marker 151 after it flipped onto its roof.

Troopers said two helicopters landed on the interstate to transport both women to the hospital.

The Alford woman, who was the driver, sustained critical injuries and the Grand Ridge woman sustained serious injuries.
