A motorcyclist was killed in a collision Tuesday evening near Venice, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Investigators say a van, driven by a 32-year-old Cape Coral man, was prepared to turn left from En Theos Lane onto State Road 681 at about 6:30 p.m.
At the same time, a motorcycle was traveling south on SR 681, approaching the yellow flashing traffic signal at the intersection.
The van proceeded into the intersection, in front of the motorcycle, where they collided.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. He has not yet been positively identified, troopers said.
The crash remains under investigation.
