All northbound lanes on Florida’s Turnpike west of Boynton Beach remain closed Saturday morning hours after a fatal crash involving an SUV and a truck.
One person died and another six others were hospitalized, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.
As of 4:51 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol said all lanes were open and the Boynton Beach Boulevard exit was no longer blocked. Southbound lanes had also faced congestion.
At 10:09 a.m., Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the rollover before mile marker 90 near Exit 68 at Boynton Beach Boulevard.
Personnel extricated people from the vehicles.
One patient was pronounced deceased at the scene, PBCFR said.
Six patients were considered trauma alerts, with one taken by Trauma Hawk and five by ground to a local hospital. Delray Beach Medical Center is the closest Level 1 trauma center.
