A 20-year-old Clearwater motorcyclist died Monday after crashing into an SUV on South Highland Avenue, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said it was around 3:20 p.m. when the man was speeding on his Suzuki motorcycle, passing several cars northbound on South Highland Avenue. When he approached Citrus Street, the motorcyclist crashed into a Nissan Rogue driven by a 61-year-old Clearwater woman, per FHP.
The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Both the driver of the SUV and her passenger, a 64-year-old Clearwater man, suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
