Alachua County firefighters put out house fire in Hawthorne

Firefighters in Alachua County put out a house fire in Hawthorne Tuesday night.

Alachua County Fire Rescue crews, along with crews from Windsor Fire Department, Melrose Fire Department, and Cross Creek Fire Department, responded to reports of a house on fire in Hawthorne just before 6:30 p.m.

Crews arrived on scene to a single-story home with heavy fire coming from the roof. Firefighters were able to put out the flames quickly.

There was no one in the home during the fire and no one was injured.

The Alachua County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
