An elderly woman suffered a head injury in a golf cart crash Wednesday on the Brownwood Bridge in The Villages.
The woman was traveling in the golf cart shortly before noon Wednesday on the bridge over State Road 44 at Brownwood when the crash occurred, according to The Villages Public Safety Department.
The woman was deemed a trauma alert and was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center. An elderly man who had been traveling in the golf cart suffered minor injuries, but he refused medical treatment.
The golf cart was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
In 2021, a 57-year-old Village of Monarch Grove man was killed when his golf cart hit a curb and then a guardrail at the Brownwood Bridge.
