UPDATE 5:02 P.M.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue says that the fire is 100% contained.

SJCFR says that the Florida Forest Service is still on the scene, extinguishing any hot spots in the area.

UPDATE 4:21 P.M.

The left two lanes on I-95 northbound have reopened; however, the right lane is still blocked

All northbound lanes of I-95 in St. Johns County are currently closed after a semi-truck caught on fire, the St. Johns County Fire Rescue says.

According to SJCFR, the fire is said to have affected at least three acres of wooded area near mile marker 315 between SR-207 and SR-16. No transports have been made.

Traffic in the southbound lanes is heavily delayed.

“I-95 northbound at mile marker 315 will remain shut down for an extended period while crews work to ensure the fire is completely out and the area is safe,” Fire Rescue says. “Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes and avoid the area.”

This is a developing story.
