The St. Lucie County Fire District is investigating an incident involving one of its golf carts that injured a pedestrian at the St. Lucie County Fair.

According to SLCFD, the incident occurred at the fair on Saturday afternoon. Deputies say the person was evaluated at the scene, taken to the hospital for medical care, and was later released without serious injury.

The fire district says the incident was documented and placed under administrative review.

“At this time, we are gathering the facts and will not speculate publicly while that review is ongoing. Our focus remains on the well-being of the individual involved and on conducting a thorough review of the incident,” the St. Lucie County Fire District said in a statement.
