Bicyclist struck, trapped under vehicle in Royal Palm Beach; airlifted as Trauma Alert

ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A bicyclist was airlifted to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Royal Palm Beach on Friday night.

According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, units were dispatched at 9:07 p.m. to the intersection of Crestwood Boulevard and Cypress Lake Drive for a reported pedestrian accident.

Upon arrival, crews found that a vehicle had struck a bicyclist, causing the pedestrian to go under the vehicle.

Fire rescue personnel said they quickly stabilized the patient on scene. The bicyclist was declared a Trauma Alert and transported by air to a local hospital for further treatment.

At this time, PBCFR has no additional information regarding the crash.
