ENGLEWOOD, Fla. —
A man was taken to the hospital after a fire caused heavy damage to an Englewood home along Morning Dove Lane on Monday morning.
According to the Englewood Area Fire Control District, firefighters responded to the call shortly after 10 a.m. and saw the home engulfed in flames. Fire officials said crews were able to extinguish the fire; however, the home and the carport roof sustained significant damage.
The rest of the home had a lot of smoke damage, and Englewood Fire’s fire marshal is working with the state fire marshal to determine the cause of the fire.
The man, who was a resident at the home, was transported to the hospital in critical condition, Englewood Fire officials said.
