SILVER SPRINGS, Fla. (WCJB) – An 18-year-old girl from Anthony is dead and an 18-year-old boy from Ocala is seriously injured after overturning an ATV in Marion County Monday evening.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the 18-year-old boy was driving an ATV eastbound on a dirt path west of Northeast 171st Avenue Road just before 6:30 p.m.
While driving on the on the dirt road, the handlebar hit a tree, causing the ATV to lose control.
The ATV flipped over and hit another tree. The 18-year-old girl, who was the passenger, died at the scene, and the 18-year-old boy was trauma-alerted to HCA Ocala Hospital for medical treatment.
