A Fort Myers Beach man was arrested on Monday after being accused of DUI and punching a deputy.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, deputies responded to a scene of a hit-and-run crash with major damage on Fiesta Lane in Cypress Lake at around 5:14 p.m.
Deputies spoke with the victim, who said that their car was parked in front of a home when a silver pickup truck crashed into it and drove away.
Deputies made contact with the driver of the pickup truck, identified as SP, 66. During their interactions, P could not stand up straight and consistently lost his balance, the report said.
Deputies also noted that Prenoveau had watery eyes and a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his face.
P then became very combative towards the deputies and punched one multiple times in the chest, the report said.
P was arrested and faces charges of DUI, refusal to submit to BAL testing, leaving the scene of a crash with damage, DUI property damage and battery on a law enforcement officer.
