A Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputy is recovering after a crash on Prevatt Avenue while escorting the traveling Vietnam War Memorial on Thursday, according to the VCSO.
Deputy Morgan was traveling southbound when a driver turned left in front of him at Ohio Avenue, causing the crash.
“Thank God he’s alive, albeit with a broken leg and collarbone,” the VCSO said.
The deputy is reportedly in good spirits at the hospital.
The Florida Highway Patrol is handling the crash investigation.
