Largo man loses control of vehicle leading to I-275 fatal crash, car fire: FHP

A 62-year-old man from Largo died after losing control of his truck, which crashed and caught fire on Interstate 275, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

FHP said the man was driving a Chevy Silverado southbound on I-275 when, for an unknown reason, he lost control south of Milepost 30.

The vehicle left the roadway, struck a traffic sign support pole and caught fire.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
