Driver arrested after FHP chase ends with crash in Fort Myers

A person is facing charges Sunday morning after an apparent high-speed chase led to a crash on Royal Palm Park Road in Fort Myers.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers were trying to stop a Chevrolet Silverado on I-75 near mile marker 151 that had previously fled from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

Troopers say that the truck failed to stop, so they pursued. While driving, they say, the driver of the truck lost control and collided with a ditch.

The driver was arrested by troopers.
