2 hurt after head-on crash sparks house fire in Poinciana, firefighters say

A head-on collision between two vehicles sent one car crashing into a residential home in Poinciana, sparking a fire that fully engulfed the vehicle and extended into the structure, according to Osceola County Fire officials.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Bordeaux Road and Alsace Drive on Thursday. Officials said two people were transported to the hospital — one occupant from each vehicle involved.

The fire has since been extinguished.

Osceola County Fire officials are urging nearby residents to avoid the area.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
