UPDATE: Franklin County Sheriff, A.J. Smith, has released a statement regarding the 3 teens killed in a crash on Highway 65.
Highway 65 is expected to remain closed for the next 6 to 7 hours; drivers are asked to find alternate routes, Sheriff Smith says.
The Sheriff confirmed the teens were not local.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, three teens are dead after a crash resulting in flames on Highway 65.
Florida Highway Patrol says a Gray 2024 Jeep Wrangler registered out of Georgia crashed on State Road 65 at Bloody Bluff Road.
Officials say the Jeep burst into flames.
Law enforcement says two girls between the ages of 16 and 18, and a boy between the ages of 16 and 20, are confirmed dead.
Authorities say an additional girl between the ages of 16 and 18 has been transported for injuries.
Both lanes of traffic on Highway 65 are closed. Authorities ask that the public avoid the area.
