Vehicle splits in half after crash in Homestead

The aftermath of a crash in Homestead was caught on camera.

It happened Saturday night along Southwest 272nd Street and 127th Avenue.

Authorities said a driver lost control and slammed their vehicle into a tree.

That collision caused the car to split in half, officials said.

Two people, a 33-year-old and a 9-year-old, were taken by helicopter to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in stable condition.
