Bay County Emergency Services announced the passing of a firefighter captain on Saturday morning.
It was reported that Jared Sasnett, 34, of Panama City, was killed in an early morning crash in Youngstown.
According to the crash report, a grey sedan collided with the back of Sasnett’s car, causing it to lose control and hit a utility pole.
Sasnett and the other driver were taken to a local hospital. Sasnett had fatal injuries and died at the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle had minor injuries.
Bay County Emergency Services said Sasnett was a captain with Bay County Fire and had over 13 years of experience. He leaves behind his wife and four children.
