BCSO deputy charged with domestic battery by strangulation

A Bay County Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested after an incident that happened last Wednesday.

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, A. S. was charged with domestic battery by strangulation after investigators found that, during a fight with his significant other, S put his hands around the victim’s neck.

Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford issued the following statement:

“We hold our deputies to the highest standards, both on and off duty. Any behavior that violates the law or betrays the public’s trust will not be tolerated. Deputy S will be held fully accountable for his actions, just like any other individual in this community.”

S was fired after an internal review. He was taken to Bay County Jail after his arrest.
