A car crashed into an apartment building in Golden Gate after fleeing from Collier County deputies Friday morning.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted a traffic stop on a white Tesla for a traffic infraction in the area of Collier Boulevard and Golden Gate Parkway.
Instead of pulling over, the car sped off from the scene, and deputies engaged in a pursuit, CCSO said.
After an approximately one-mile pursuit, the car crashed through a metal fence and into an apartment building on Coral Palms Lane, according to CCSO.
Both occupants of the Tesla then exited the car and ran, CCSO said. Deputies were able to apprehend the female occupant, identified as Vanessa Wagenman.
Deputies are still searching for the male driver of the car, CCSO said.
No one inside the apartment building was injured in the crash.
