Investigators say the crash involved a 2023 Honda CR-V and a 2021 Ford Expedition. Troopers say the Honda was traveling eastbound on SR-40 near Lake Winona Road when it crossed into the westbound lane, and crashed head-on into the Ford.

The Ford had four people inside, and FHP says all of them were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Troopers have not said the extent of their injuries.

Additionally, FHP says they are still working to confirm the identities of those involved in the crash.

SR-40 is closed in both directions and drivers are being asked to avoid the area.

Drivers can U.S. 92, U.S. 17, and State Road 11 as detours.
