Crews continue to work to clear the remainder of the debris caused by a multi-vehicle crash that initially shut down northbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Hernando County early Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident happened shortly after 3 a.m. on May 5, when a tractor-trailer, driven by a 45-year-old Jacksonville woman, heading northbound on I-75 in the center lane, became disabled and stopped near milepost, per FHP.
Another tractor-trailer, driven by a 51-year-old Minnesota man, was heading northbound on I-75 in the same lane and unable to avoid a collision in time, striking the rear of the other vehicle.
The Minnesota man was uninjured, but the Jacksonville woman was taken to an area hospital after suffering minor injuries, according to FHP.
Partial reopening of northbound lanes of the interstate happened at 8:30 a.m.
