One person is dead and two others are hospitalized after a crash in St. Petersburg early Wednesday morning.
The St. Petersburg Police Department responded to a crash on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South and 9th Avenue South around 2 a.m.
According to SPPD, a white Toyota Camry was attempting to back out of a parking lot at the Sunshine Food Mart when they entered the roadway and was hit on the passenger side by a black Jeep Wrangler traveling southbound on MLK Jr. St. S.
The passenger in the Toyota, Tamara Williams, 29, died at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota and a passenger in the Jeep were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
According to officers, the driver of the Jeep was uninjured. He remained on the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
