Driver killed in crash involving flatbed truck, box truck on Okeechobee Road

A driver died Friday morning in a crash on Okeechobee Road in Hialeah, the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed.

According to FHP Lt. Alex Camacho, the crash between the flatbed truck and a box truck occurred in the southbound lanes of Okeechobee Road, at the intersection with Krome Avenue.

Camacho said the box truck was stopped at a red light when a yellow flatbed truck crashed into the back of it.

The driver of the flatbed truck was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver was not injured, authorities said.

Two southbound lanes on Okeechobee Rd were closed after the collision.

The identities of those involved in the crash were not immediately released.
