Troopers looking for driver involved in deadly hit-and-run in Apopka

FHP tells WESH 2 a person on foot was killed and the driver took off

The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Apopka.

State troopers said it happened just after 11:30 on Monday night on Marvin C Zanders Avenue.

Investigators said a man was lying in the southbound travel lane on Marvin C Zanders Avenue when a car hit him and drove off.

FHP said there is no information at this time on a possible driver or vehicle involved.

The road was shut down between 16th and 17th Street until 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The road has since fully opened.
