Motorcyclist dies after switching lanes in front of car on Howard Frankland Bridge

A motorcyclist is dead after changing lanes in front of a vehicle on the Howard Frankland Bridge Tuesday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash around 4:36 a.m. in the southbound lanes on the Howard Frankland Bridge.

A Honda motorcycle, driven by a 64-year-old Tampa man, was traveling southbound on I-275 in the outside center lane when it changed lanes into the path of a Kia Soul, driven by a 48-year-old Lakewood Ranch woman.

After changing lanes in front of the Kia Soul, the motorcyclist was hit.

According to FHP, the motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash.

As of 9: 50 a.m., all lanes are now open on the Howard Frankland Bridge.
