A woman and her dog were rescued after a fire tore through a mobile home along Cherry Tree Lane in Collier County.
The Greater Naples Fire Rescue District said the blaze started near a grill before it jumped over to the mobile home next to it and did some heavy damage.
Neighbors told Gulf Coast News that the woman inside the home was sleeping when it happened, but they were able to wake her up to get her out. Neighbors also said they stepped in and grabbed hoses to try to extinguish the fire and realized a dog was stuck inside.
Firefighters arrived and quickly jumped in to save the dog named Bear. Bear is reportedly doing well, but his paw pads were burned a little bit.
The woman was hurt and taken to the hospital, and Gulf Coast News is working to confirm the severity of her injuries. The Red Cross was also called to help, and a fire investigator is working to determine what caused the fire.
