Child hospitalized after being hit by car while riding bike in Lutz neighborhood: FHP

A child was taken to the hospital Thursday night after being hit by a car in Lutz, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the child was riding his bike in a subdivision near Skybrooke Boulevard and Cloudless Bliss Drive when he was hit by a Tesla.

The red Tesla was still in the area Thursday night. However, there was no word on whether the driver stayed at the scene.

The entire front windshield of the vehicle was shattered.

Authorities said the child was hospitalized, but did not have an update on his condition, nor his age. The child’s bike was described as a “little one, possibly with training wheels.”
