Head-on crash shuts down Palm City roads, two seriously hurt

Roads are closed Thursday morning in Palm City after a multi-vehicle head-on crash that left two people seriously injured.

Martin County Fire Rescue crews responded just before 11:30 a.m. to the intersection of Southwest Martin Highway and Southwest Long Drive.

According to fire rescue officials, one patient with traumatic injuries was airlifted by LifeStar helicopter, while another was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.

Authorities are asking drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes as crews continue investigating the crash.
