Teen arrested for reckless driving after crashing into Venice Beach Pavilion, police say

A 17-year-old driver accused of crashing into the Venice Beach Pavilion early Saturday was arrested later that night, police said.

Venice police said the teen faces charges of reckless driving with serious bodily injury and reckless driving with property damage.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. Saturday at Venice Beach. Officers said a vehicle slammed into the pavilion at a high rate of speed with four teenagers inside, including the driver. All four were seriously hurt and taken to the hospital. The pavilion and nearby landscaping were damaged.
