4 hospitalized after helicopter crash in South Florida: police

Four people have been hospitalized after a helicopter crashed in Pembroke Pines on Saturday morning, the police department said.

The crash occurred at 11:15 a.m. at North Perry Airport, according to PPPD.

The National Transportation Safety Board said the Robinson R44 helicopter was preparing to lift off when it rolled over and hit a parked airplane.

Four people were on board and were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

NBC affiliate WTVJ reported that all of the passengers and the pilot were out of the helicopter by the time first responders arrived.

The helicopter will be recovered to a secure facility for further examination, NTSB said.
