A man died after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Palm Bay, according to police.

The crash occurred around 3:20 p.m., prompting the closure of Degroodt Road between La Casa Street and Saxony Road, the Palm Bay Police Department said on social media.

A spokesperson for the police department initially told WESH 2 News that the crash — involving a pickup truck and an SUV — resulted in life-threatening injuries to one of the drivers.

In an update after 6 p.m., police said a man who was involved in the crash had since succumbed to his injuries.

The roadway had been reopened at the time of this report.

Palm Bay police are still investigating the crash.
