28-year-old killed on electric scooter in WPB hit-and-run, identified as O'Shea's employee

A 28-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning in West Palm Beach, and police are asking for the public’s help to identify the driver responsible.

Officers with the West Palm Beach Police Department said they responded to South Olive Avenue, off Lakewood Road, at around 1:50 a.m. Monday, where they found B dead in the roadway. An electric scooter was discovered nearby, according to investigators.

Police said the driver involved in the crash left the scene without stopping to render aid or report the incident.

Investigators believe the suspect vehicle may have damage to its front end or passenger side as a result of the collision.

According to police, B was returning home from work at a local restaurant when the crash occurred. B’s workplace, O’Shea’s Pub, a popular bar on Clematis Street, posted about its his passing, asking for help finding the driver responsible.

Detectives are urging residents in the Southend neighborhood, particularly those with security cameras along South Olive Avenue between Russlyn Drive and Pilgrim Road, to review footage from 1:20 a.m. to 1:50 a.m. Monday. Authorities hope video from the area may help identify the vehicle and driver involved.
