Boat explosion in Apalachicola injures four

A Friday morning, boat explosion in Apalachicola injured several people and caused damage to multiple boats in the area.

Firefighters with the Apalachicola Fire Department were dispatched to 10 Foot Hole Boat Ramp around 10:30 a.m.

FWC says there were six people on board at the time of the explosion and four people were injured. One person was airlifted to Shands with burns to her legs. The three others were treated at Weems Memorial.

Authorities say five boats were damaged and since this is an ongoing investigation, there are no additional details available at this time.
