3 families displaced following apartment fire in Tampa

Several people were left without a home Sunday morning after a fire broke out in a Tampa apartment.

According to the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, crews responded to a two-alarm fire at an apartment on Quinton Drive at 9:35 a.m.

Crews arrived and encountered heavy fire and smoke coming through the roof of a two-story apartment building.

Crews searched multiple units to ensure everyone evacuated safely, and the fire was under control within 25 minutes.

One person was taken to the hospital in stable condition. No firefighters were injured.

According to HCFR, the fire displaced three families, who will be receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

HCFR is investigating the cause of the fire.
