Fire near water heater damages Escambia County home

A fire that started in a garage near a water heater damaged a home in Escambia County on Sunday afternoon.

Officials say the fire occurred on the 9700 block of Creek Bridge Circle, and no one was hurt.

Escambia County Emergency Communications received a 911 call at about 12:39 p.m. for a residential structure fire at the address.

Escambia County Fire Rescue responded and arrived by about 12:47 p.m., then extinguished the fire by about 1:29 p.m., according to officials.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross was notified to provide assistance to the resident.
