Surveillance video captured the moment a white car slammed head-on into a golf cart in a Cutler Bay neighborhood, sending several passengers flying onto the roadway.
The crash happened last Thursday near Southwest 206th Street and 89th Avenue. The video, recorded by a camera mounted on a nearby home, shows the white car colliding with the golf cart.
Three people can be seen riding in the back seat of the golf cart, including what appears to be a baby. The impact throws the two adults to the ground, and the baby appears to fall from one of the passengers’ arms. Audio from the video includes the sound of a baby crying after the crash.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Investigators said there were two children riding in the back seat of the golf cart, but they did not mention a baby.
Fortunately, the people riding in the golf cart suffered only cuts and scratches.
According to authorities, the driver of the white car was cited for careless driving.
The law states that golf carts cannot travel faster than 20 mph, and they may legally operate on roads where the posted speed limit is 30 mph or less.
