Pedestrian hit by vehicle on University Parkway

A pedestrian was hit Thursday by a vehicle at the intersection of University Parkway and Lockwood Ridge Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The incident happened shortly at 1 p.m., when a Pontiac hit a pedestrian, troopers told ABC7.

Westbound University Parkway was temporarily shut down while emergency crews were on scene, the Highway Patrol said.

FHP told ABC7 the pedestrian was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
