One person was taken to the hospital after a house fire Thursday afternoon in Dr. Phillips, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters responded to the 8000 block of Bluestar Circle, where a caller had reported smoke and flames coming from a house.

Crews arriving on scene found heavy turbulent smoke coming from the home, as well as fire in the garage, the fire department said in a statement.

Crews got water on the fire and knocked it down, the statement reads, adding they were still on scene at the time of this writing.

Chopper 2 flew over the scene, observing the firefighters wrapping up operations at the burned-out home.
